Keep Stress Under Control

stress-breakupWe all know that it is so much easier to put out a small fire than to extinguish a raging one. The same goes with dealing stress, small doses of it are easier to control than its larger amounts that have built up over a period of time. Stress has a huge impact on all aspects of our well being may it be with mental, physical or emotional. That is why we need to know how to control it and keep it in manageable level. But how can we do that?

First is with communication. Good communication is one of the most essential tools for effective stress management. Many find that talking to their mate, a friend or a colleague does much to reduce stress.

Second is a release. When we say a release, this means doing something that is the total opposite of stressful. Not just relaxing, but taking it to the next level – having fun! This can simply be window shopping at the mall after work or playing FoxyBingo in your free time. Having fun for a few minutes in the in the middle or after a stressful day is a sure-fire way to recharge your positive energies.

Another is the value of our sense of humor. Laughing is both refreshing and healthful because the body produces endorphins and suppresses the production of adrenaline when we laugh. That is why it is good to come up with something funny in the most stressful situation. Just don’t make it too loud, people around might suspect that you are experiencing much more than stress.

Good qualities also reduce stress. Having a companion that shows mildness and self control lightens up the atmosphere. Much more advantage if we apply such qualities to our self.

Lastly, as an individual we should humbly acknowledge to our self that we have physical, mental and emotional limits and that we cannot do everything we would like to do. As difficult as this can be, we may need to learn when and how to say NO to demands that exceed what we realistically can handle.

In our daily activities, even we strictly apply this tips, it does not guarantee that we would be free from all stress but at least we can keep the stress under control and it is always so manageable.

Feel Good on Your Bad Days

feel good

We girls all get our bad days—feeling fat, bad hair, or just plain lazy. All these feelings can reflect on the outside. We can feel cranky, dress lousy, and act anti-social. We shouldn’t let these feelings drag us down, though. There are simple things we can do to battle our bad days. Have a look at these suggestions:

- If you’re feeling fat, put on sexy underwear, so you can feel good underneath your corporate or casual clothes. This can make you appreciate your form more even if no one sees it.

- For bad hair days, take advantage of the different messy hairstyles you can try. You can put your hair in a loose ponytail or amp it up with a messy braid.

- If you’re too lazy to dress up, spice up your simple ensemble with statement accessories—a chunky necklace, stack of bangles, or over-sized rings.

- Beat your anti-social tendencies by calling up your friends for some bonding time at your place. You don’t need to head out to have fun. Order some pizza and watch a feel-good movie with people you love.

- Improve your mood by exposing yourself to your favorite things. Watch an episode of your favorite comedy series or listen to your favorite music.

- On days that you feel burned out, go to the salon for some pampering. Reward yourself for all the hard work you’ve been doing.

- If you need ideas and you’re blank, go out and just observe your environment. Leave your desk to interact with the world outside and to get inspiration.

Turn your bad day around by following these suggestions. Remember that you can always do something to conquer your bad days.

Getting Organized

Tired of your physical and mental clutter? You’ll be surprised at how relaxing and productive your life can be if you start getting organized. Getting organized will allow you to get rid of unnecessary clutter at home and at work. This can help you clear up your space to make way for better things. Here are some tips to get organized. Follow them and see how things can get so much better.

- Start with your bag. Is your bag, even your wallet, filled with crumpled receipts, old movie tickets, and expired cards? Clear up your purse by getting rid of all the unnecessary items in it.
- Acquire the right organizing tools for your workstation. Get boxes, folders, and envelopes where you can store your files. It would help if you label them accordingly. Looking for papers won’t be such a daunting task in the future if you do this.

- Give your wardrobe an upgrade by organizing your clothes by type, material, and color. Do the same with your accessories, bags, and shoes. Dressing up will be faster and more fun if you do this.
- Organize your collection of books, music, or DVDs. Do it alphabetically or according to categories—whichever works best for you. Your guests will be impressed when they see how you care for your collection.

- To organize your tasks and other activities, use a planner, a journal, or a calendar. With these items, you’re sure to never miss another meeting or night out again.

These are simple but sure-fire ways to get organized. Follow these tips and never be stressed again because of clutter. Good luck!

Words to Inspire You

inspire

Sometimes all we need to get inspired and motivated to improve ourselves are heartwarming quotations. Personally, I like to take note of inspirational quotes that I encounter, so I can go back to them whenever I need a boost. I sometimes even print them out and post them in my room or at my workstation. These simple but meaningful messages can turn anyone’s day around. Let me share some of my favorite self-development quotes that might help give you a push to be your best:

- “Always dream and shoot higher than you know you can do. Do not bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself.” ― William Faulkner

- “As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world – that is the myth of the atomic age – as in being able to remake ourselves.” ― Mahatma Gandhi

- “How noble and good everyone could be if, every evening before falling asleep, they were to recall to their minds the events of the whole day and consider exactly what has been good and bad. Then without realizing it, you try to improve yourself at the start of each new day.” ― Anne Frank

- “Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them.” ― Albert Einstein

- “You are everything that is, your thoughts, your life, your dreams come true. You are everything you choose to be. You are as unlimited as the endless universe.” ― Shad Helmstetter
